Welcome to Interlibrary Loan (ILL). If you are an Albright College student, staff, or faculty member and need books, photocopies, or audiovisual materials that are not available on campus, Interlibrary Loan (via ILLiad) would like to help!

What is ILLiad?

ILLiad is the electronic system you use to request an item through Interlibrary Loan. The name ILLiad is an acronym for InterLibrary Loan internet accessible database.

How is ILLiad better than traditional ILL or Ariel system?

• You will find it easier to submit your interlibrary loan requests. With ILLiad, you enter your name, address, and other personal information into the system only once, at the time of your first request.
• Since most of our online database support ILLiad direct ILL request via their sites, your request will be handled more rapidly and accurately as problems relating to misinterpretation of hand-written requests are eliminated. That also means you no longer need to fill in those green/orange sheets or typing in long online forms for most request.
• You can get many of your photocopies more quickly through Electronic Delivery (required free Adobe's Acrobat Reader version 7 or higher which you can download at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).
• You can get information about the status of your request through the Web at any time from any location without having to call the ILL Department.
• Library personnel are able to serve you better because all data about your request and its handling is stored in a searchable database. We are able to respond quickly to your inquiries about your request. We are also able to gather statistical information about the performance of the libraries that lend to us, enabling us to make better decisions when choosing a lender to supply an item.

What Web browser should I use?

You need a Web browser that can handle forms, tables, and, preferably, one that can handle frames. This included but not limited to FireFox 2.0 or greater, Internet Explorer 5 or higher.

To submit an Interlibrary Loan Request click on the link entitled, "ILLiad Online Request & Document Delivery" which will allow you to logon to the ILLiad system, with your ILLiad username and password, to submit ILL requests, change person contact information, view request history, cancel request, resubmit canceled requests, view electronically delivered documents and more. If you do not have the username and password for ILLiad, please click on the button entitled, "First Time Users" to register.

Interlibrary Loan hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
